Had purchased VT5831 speakerphone base/cordless handset unit previously & wanted to get rid of my other 2.4GHz handsets. Very good price, shipped very quickly, and was easy to set up. No more interference with my wireless network.
Go outside to the pool area and your signal will weaken and finally just drop. This is a 5.8 GHs expandable phone in my home. It works well if you are in the same room. When I tried to get a replacement I found the phone has already been replaced by a newer model. Go for the newer models and leave the discontinued stuff on the shelves--- regardless of price.
The sound quality is great and the speaker phone on the handset is very convenient.
I love the battery backup in each charging station and the base unit. The USB connector and software doesn't work on a mac. Navigation key is difficult to work, but clearly a great phone for the price.
I have this model of phone and needed to expand. This phone worked as expected and I am quite happy. I very much like the VTech answering machine/phones that I bought four to five years ago, and I was happy that I could expand it with the correct model phone.
